Painting Your Wood Carvings
With Rhonda Smith – Dec. 1; 9-4
This class is for beginners who want to learn how to finish a wood carving project with ARTIST ACRYLIC tube paint. We will go over the process step by step, which will include some short dry times…. there is nothing quite as fascinating as watching paint dry!
We will learn: How to begin, properly thinning paint, mixing colors with the primaries and a few others, blending techniques, antiquing and how to seal your project when dry.
Please bring a carving to paint: Bottle Stopper heads, Santas, Caricature carvings, and anything similar to that. If you’re questioning if it’s “okay” to bring something, feel free to contact Rhonda or email rrvwoodcarvers@gmail.com! Please register for this class at In the Chips, so they know how many to plan for.
Rhonda will be providing art supplies, but if you have a few favorite brushes you can bring them along.
Minimum of 6 people, maximum of 12.
Class will run from 9 am to 4 pm with a break at 10 for the club meeting which you are invited to attend. Lunch is not provided but you may bring a sack lunch or there are many venues available in the area.
